Makassar, August 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar has successfully held MEDICINE 2025, a prestigious scientific and clinical competition for medical students. The event was designed to test and improve students’ knowledge and skills in various branches of medical science, reinforcing FKIK Unismuh’s commitment to producing outstanding and competent future doctors.

MEDICINE 2025 featured several competition categories relevant to the medical curriculum, including Neuropsychiatry, Tropical Infections, Musculoskeletal, Urology-Reproduction, Digestive, and Cardiology-Respiration. The competition served as a platform for students to apply their knowledge, strategize, and hone their analytical skills in a competitive yet sportsmanlike atmosphere.

Alifya Mugni Azzahra, Head of the Department of Development, Science, and Knowledge (PIP) of the FKIK Unismuh Student Executive Board (BEM), expressed her enthusiasm for the event. “MEDICINE 2025 is more than just a competition; it’s a way to measure the clinical understanding of our fellow students. We hope that through this event, the spirit of learning and exploring medical science will grow, ultimately preparing FKIK Unismuh students to face the challenges of the professional world,” she said.

In a similar vein, Adi Fahja Said, Head of the FK-Unismuh BEM, emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in organizing student activities. “This event is tangible proof of the synergy between students, the PIP department, and the entire faculty leadership and staff. We are proud to have organized an event that not only hones competencies but also builds character and a winning mentality among students,” Adi stated.

Meanwhile, Dr. Asdar, Sp.B., Vice Dean III of FKIK Unismuh, highly praised the students’ initiative in organizing MEDICINE 2025. “As faculty leadership, we strongly support any activity that can improve the quality of education and graduates. MEDICINE 2025 is a very positive program because it trains students to think critically, work together, and master various fundamental branches of medical science,” said Dr. Asdar. He added that a competition like this can be valuable preparation for students taking national exams or when they begin their practice.

It is hoped that MEDICINE 2025 will become a continuously developing annual agenda, serving as a benchmark for the academic excellence of FKIK Unismuh students and producing a generation of professional, competent, and highly competitive doctors.
