Makassar, September 15-20, 2025 – The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Medicine (BEM FK) at Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar has once again expanded its international reach by participating in the “Global Project & SDGs 3 Countries” program.

The program was attended by an FK Unismuh student delegation led directly by the BEM Chairman, Adi Fahja Said, and took place from September 15 to 20, 2025, across three Asian countries: Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

This program was specifically designed to provide students with a global perspective on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and community-based social projects run by various institutions in Asia. The delegates actively discussed models for cross-country collaboration in achieving SDG targets, particularly those related to health and well-being.

In circulating photos, the delegation was seen posing in front of the Lee Wee Nam Library (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), indicating that the visit also included a comparative study on research innovation supporting social action. This visit was part of an exploratory agenda aimed at comparing strategic approaches, social project management, and community empowerment efforts at leading institutions.

Participation in this program aligns with BEM FK Unismuh’s commitment to developing future doctors who are not only clinically competent but also possess a broad understanding and an active role in social development and achieving global targets.

“Participating in this program was a golden opportunity for us to see firsthand how SDG-based social projects are implemented abroad. We learned a lot about social technology innovation, community-based approaches, and the student well-being systems that support humanitarian activities. We hope this experience can inspire all FK Unismuh students to continue to be brave in creating work and making a real contribution toward achieving the SDGs,” said Adi Fahja Said.

The “Global Project & SDGs 3 Countries” program serves as tangible proof that FK Unismuh students have a strong spirit to network and learn from best practices around the world. Moving forward, BEM FK Unismuh will continue striving to create more opportunities for students to gain similarly valuable experiences.
