Strengthening the Fight Against Cancer: MARC Young Innovators Take the Stage at MEDSCO 2025



The Medical Scientific Competition (MEDSCO) 2025, held by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta in Solo from November 7–9, 2025, brought together talented medical students in a national showcase of innovation and collaboration. Carrying the theme “Oncology for all: Strengthening Innovations and Collaboration to Achieve WHO Global Cancer Goals and SDG 3.4 by 2030,” the event welcomed creative and impactful submissions across several competitive categories.
MARC proudly sent three teams to compete: One Public Poster Team: Fathurrahman Syam Asa Sofyan, Moh. Gilang Altaf A. Lapada, and Syifa Putri Fakhirah. Two Educational Video Teams: Team 1: Nuriza Salsabila, Tazkiyah Ulin Nikmah S, and Zickha Nurul Annisa. Team 2: Khodijah, Alyah Awaliah, and Fiqria Arrasyida Hafza.
Their involvement addressed the challenge of making oncology innovations accessible for all, inspiring public engagement and promoting collaboration to help reach global cancer control targets set by WHO and the United Nations. The public poster team conveyed powerful messages on cancer awareness, while the educational video teams produced creative and informative content emphasizing practical steps individuals and communities can take in cancer prevention, early detection, and ongoing treatment.
By participating in MEDSCO 2025, MARC’s delegates demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing public health education, scientific collaboration, and creative advocacy. Their presence at one of Indonesia’s leading medical competitions signals a bright future for public-oriented medical innovation, encouraging further academic achievements and impactful health advocacy in the coming years
