The Medical Scientific Competition (MEDSCO) 2025, hosted by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta in Solo on 7–9 November 2025, became a special stage for MARC delegates. Carrying the theme “Oncology for all: Strengthening Innovations and Collaboration to Achieve WHO Global Cancer Goals and SDG 3.4 by 2030,” the event challenged students from across Indonesia to translate cancer science into impactful messages for the public.

MARC sent three teams to compete, and two of them successfully brought home the Favorite Awards. The Public Poster Team, consisting of Fathurrahman Syam Asa Sofyan, Moh. Gilang Altaf A. Lapada, and Syifa Putri Fakhirah, won Favorite Poster for their visually strong and easy-to-understand campaign on cancer awareness and early detection. Their work highlighted how accessible information and community-based prevention can support global cancer targets.

The first Educational Video Team—Nuriza Salsabila, Tazkiyah Ulin Nikmah S, and Zickha Nurul Annisa—earned the Favorite Video Award through an engaging and informative production that combined clear medical explanations with empathetic storytelling. The video emphasized practical steps individuals and families can take to reduce cancer risk and to support patients throughout treatment.

These dual Favorite recognitions demonstrate MARC’s strength in science communication: not only understanding oncology concepts, but also packaging them in a way that is creative, persuasive, and relevant for the wider public. The achievements of the poster and video teams are expected to inspire other students to keep innovating in public health education and to actively contribute to the global fight against cancer.
