The basketball team of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, achieved a commendable accomplishment by securing Second Place at the National Basketball Event, the Solo Medical Cup, involving Faculties of Medicine from across Indonesia. This achievement demonstrates the strong competitiveness of FMHS Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar students at the national level, not only in academic pursuits but also in non-academic fields.

The Solo Medical Cup is a prestigious competition that brings together top basketball teams from various faculties of medicine throughout Indonesia. During the tournament, the FMHS Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar team performed consistently from the preliminary rounds to the final match, showcasing solid teamwork, discipline, and a high level of sportsmanship.This success cannot be separated from the contribution of the coach, M. Yusran Rahmat, S.Pd., M.Pd., who provided intensive guidance to the team, both in terms of technical skills and competitive mentality. In addition, the support of the accompanying lecturer, dr. Sultan Pasha, played a significant role in maintaining the students’ motivation and readiness throughout the competition.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K), expressed her appreciation and pride in the achievement attained by the basketball team. According to her, this accomplishment reflects a balanced approach between academic development and the enhancement of students’ talents and interests within the FMHS environment.

“We are very proud of the achievement attained by FMHS Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar students at the national level. This demonstrates that our students are capable of excelling comprehensively, both academically and in sports. This achievement should serve as a motivation for other students to continuously develop their potential,” stated Prof. Suryani.

She further added that FMHS Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar will continue to support various positive and competitive student activities. The Second Place achievement at the Solo Medical Cup is expected to serve as an initial milestone toward attaining higher accomplishments at both national and international levels in the future.

Tim basket Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan (FKIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar berhasil menorehkan prestasi membanggakan dengan meraih Juara 2 pada Event Nasional Basket Solo Medical Cup Antar Fakultas Kedokteran se-Indonesia. Capaian ini menjadi bukti daya saing mahasiswa FKIK Unismuh Makassar di tingkat nasional, tidak hanya dalam bidang akademik, tetapi juga nonakademik.

Ajang Solo Medical Cup merupakan kompetisi bergengsi yang mempertemukan tim-tim basket terbaik dari berbagai fakultas kedokteran di Indonesia. Dalam turnamen tersebut, tim FKIK Unismuh Makassar tampil konsisten sejak babak awal hingga final, menunjukkan permainan solid, disiplin, dan penuh semangat sportivitas.Keberhasilan ini tidak terlepas dari peran pelatih M. Yusran Rahmat, S.Pd., M.Pd., yang secara intensif membina tim, baik dari aspek teknik permainan maupun mental bertanding. Selain itu, dukungan dosen pendamping dr. Sultan Pasha turut menjadi faktor penting dalam menjaga motivasi dan kesiapan mahasiswa selama mengikuti kompetisi.

Dekan FKIK Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K), menyampaikan apresiasi dan rasa bangganya atas prestasi yang diraih tim basket tersebut. Menurutnya, capaian ini mencerminkan keseimbangan pembinaan akademik dan pengembangan minat bakat mahasiswa di lingkungan FKIK.

“Kami sangat bangga atas prestasi yang diraih mahasiswa FKIK Unismuh Makassar di tingkat nasional. Ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa kami mampu berprestasi secara komprehensif, baik di bidang akademik maupun olahraga. Prestasi ini harus menjadi motivasi bagi mahasiswa lain untuk terus mengembangkan potensi diri,” ujar Prof. Suryani.

Ia menambahkan, FKIK Unismuh Makassar akan terus mendukung berbagai kegiatan kemahasiswaan yang bersifat positif dan kompetitif. Prestasi Juara 2 Solo Medical Cup ini diharapkan menjadi pijakan awal untuk meraih capaian yang lebih tinggi pada ajang nasional maupun internasional di masa mendatang.
