Aligning an OBE-Based Curriculum: Dentistry Program at FMHS Unismuh Reviews Graduate Learning Outcomes
MAKASSAR – The Dentistry Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the development of Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs) on Thursday, 13 August 2026. The event took place in the Meeting Room on the second floor of the FMHS Unismuh Makassar.
The FGD was part of the Dentistry Study Program’s ongoing efforts to review and refine its Graduate Learning Outcomes to ensure their continued relevance to developments in dental education and oral healthcare. The formulation of the GLOs was also designed to align with the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Indonesia’s National Standards for Higher Education (SN-Dikti), the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), the Indonesian Dentist Competency Standards (SKDGI), and current higher education quality assurance policies.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of FMHS, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K), Subsp.KM. As part of the program, participants attended a presentation on the principles of developing Graduate Learning Outcomes based on Outcome-Based Education, delivered by drg. Adam Malik Hamudeng, M.Med.Ed. The session was followed by a collaborative process of developing the GLOs involving participants, resource persons, and facilitators.
The FGD brought together a team from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Hasanuddin, comprising drg. Irfan Sugianto, M.Med.Ed., Ph.D., Sp.RKG, drg. Mukhtar Nur Anam, Sp.B.M.M, and drg. Adam Malik Hamudeng, M.Med.Ed. The discussion was also facilitated by dr. Ummu Kalzum Malik, M.Med.Ed., Sp.PA, Dr. dr. Dara Ugi, M.Kes, and Dr. dr. Ami Febriza Achmad, M.Kes.
The discussion covered an evaluation of the alignment between the GLOs and the study program’s vision, mission, objectives, and graduate profile. It also examined the integration of attitudes, knowledge, general skills, and specific professional competencies, as well as the measurability and attainability of the GLOs within the curriculum. The forum further addressed the competencies required of future graduates in response to developments in oral healthcare and the demands of the 21st century, including digital literacy, evidence-based dentistry, patient safety, communication, interprofessional collaboration, and professionalism.
Through a participatory approach, participants, resource persons, and facilitators conducted an academic review and worked collaboratively to align the GLOs with advances in science and technology, evolving healthcare needs, and input from relevant stakeholders. The resulting formulation is expected to serve as a foundation for curriculum development, areas of study, course structures, Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), teaching and learning strategies, and assessment systems in accordance with OBE principles and continuous quality improvement.
The Head of the Dentistry Study Program at FMHS Unismuh Makassar, drg. St. Maisarah Alwany, MARS, together with faculty members of the Dentistry Study Program, also took part in the discussion. Their involvement was essential to ensuring that the resulting GLOs can be effectively integrated into the educational process and remain consistent with the graduate profile envisioned by the study program.
The FGD is expected to produce a refined and mutually agreed set of Graduate Learning Outcomes for the Dentistry Study Program, along with a comprehensive mapping of their alignment with the study program’s vision and mission, graduate profile, SN-Dikti, KKNI, SKDGI, and higher education quality assurance regulations. The outcomes of the discussion will also provide recommendations for further curriculum development, including the formulation of Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), Semester Learning Plans (RPS), teaching and learning strategies, and assessment systems.

Selaraskan Kurikulum Berbasis OBE, Prodi Kedokteran Gigi FKIK Unismuh Bahas Capaian Pembelajaran Lulusan
MAKASSAR – Program Studi Pendidikan Kedokteran Gigi Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan (FKIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar melaksanakan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Penyusunan Capaian Pembelajaran Lulusan (CPL), Kamis, 13 Agustus 2026. Kegiatan berlangsung di Ruang Rapat Lantai 2 FKIK Unismuh Makassar.
FGD ini menjadi bagian dari upaya Program Studi Pendidikan Kedokteran Gigi dalam meninjau dan menyempurnakan CPL agar tetap relevan dengan perkembangan pendidikan dan pelayanan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Penyusunan CPL juga diarahkan agar selaras dengan prinsip Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Standar Nasional Pendidikan Tinggi (SN-Dikti), Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia (KKNI), Standar Kompetensi Dokter Gigi Indonesia (SKDGI), serta kebijakan penjaminan mutu pendidikan tinggi.
Kegiatan dibuka oleh Dekan FKIK Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K), Subsp.KM. Dalam rangkaian kegiatan, peserta mendapatkan pemaparan mengenai prinsip penyusunan Capaian Pembelajaran Lulusan berdasarkan Outcome-Based Education yang disampaikan drg. Adam Malik Hamudeng, M.Med.Ed. Setelah pemaparan, kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan proses penyusunan CPL yang melibatkan peserta, narasumber, dan fasilitator.
FGD menghadirkan tim dari Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Hasanuddin, yakni drg. Irfan Sugianto, M.Med.Ed., Ph.D., Sp.RKG, drg. Mukhtar Nur Anam, Sp.B.M.M, dan drg. Pembahasan dalam FGD mencakup evaluasi kesesuaian CPL dengan visi, misi, tujuan, dan profil lulusan program studi, keterpaduan aspek sikap, pengetahuan, keterampilan umum dan keterampilan khusus, hingga keterukuran CPL dalam implementasi kurikulum. Forum ini juga membahas kebutuhan kompetensi lulusan dengan mempertimbangkan perkembangan pelayanan kesehatan gigi dan mulut serta kompetensi abad ke-21, termasuk literasi digital, evidence-based dentistry, keselamatan pasien, komunikasi, kolaborasi interprofesional, dan profesionalisme.
Melalui pendekatan partisipatif, peserta bersama narasumber dan fasilitator melakukan telaah akademik serta penyelarasan rumusan CPL berdasarkan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, kebutuhan pelayanan kesehatan, dan berbagai masukan pemangku kepentingan. Rumusan tersebut selanjutnya diharapkan menjadi dasar pengembangan kurikulum, bahan kajian, struktur mata kuliah, Capaian Pembelajaran Mata Kuliah (CPMK), strategi pembelajaran, hingga sistem asesmen sesuai prinsip OBE dan peningkatan mutu berkelanjutan.
Ketua Program Studi Kedokteran Gigi FKIK Unismuh Makassar, drg. St. Maisarah Alwany, MARS, bersama dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Kedokteran Gigi turut terlibat dalam kegiatan tersebut. Keterlibatan tim program studi menjadi bagian penting dalam memastikan rumusan CPL yang dihasilkan dapat diterapkan secara terintegrasi dalam proses pendidikan dan sesuai dengan profil lulusan yang ingin dicapai.
FGD ini ditargetkan menghasilkan rumusan CPL Program Studi Kedokteran Gigi yang telah disempurnakan dan disepakati bersama, sekaligus pemetaan keselarasan CPL dengan visi dan misi program studi, profil lulusan, SN-Dikti, KKNI, SKDGI, serta regulasi penjaminan mutu pendidikan tinggi. Hasil kegiatan juga akan menjadi rekomendasi pengembangan kurikulum, termasuk penyusunan CPMK, Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS), strategi pembelajaran, dan sistem asesmen.
