BPH Unismuh Makassar Ensures Infrastructure Readiness for the Opening of Dentistry Programs
Makassar, July 16, 2025 – The Daily Advisory Board (Badan Pembina Harian/BPH) of Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar has expressed full support for the establishment of the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentistry Profession Programs, which are currently undergoing a visitation process by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI).
As part of the visitation activities, BPH emphasized that Unismuh Makassar has thoroughly prepared the necessary facilities and infrastructure to support the implementation of dental education. These include lecture halls, anatomy and biomolecular laboratories, clinical education facilities, clinical skills laboratories, and administrative offices — all in accordance with national standards.
The Chairman of BPH Unismuh Makassar, Prof. Dr. H. Gagaring Pagalung, M.Si., Ak., C.A., stated that the development of infrastructure reflects Unismuh’s long-term commitment to providing high-quality, competitive, and Islamic value-based dental education.
“We at BPH are committed to ensuring that all physical and academic support systems are well-prepared and meet the standards set by the Ministry of Health and higher education institutions in medical and health sciences,” said Prof. Gagaring.
He also expressed his appreciation for the hard work and collaboration of the FKIK team, the Rectorate, and all supporting units involved in the preparation. The establishment of the Bachelor of Dentistry and Dentistry Profession Programs is expected to strengthen Unismuh Makassar’s position as a leading institution in health education in Eastern Indonesia.
The full support of BPH is an essential element in ensuring that the program proposal process is not only administratively sound but also capable of fulfilling the nation’s need for professional, ethical, and competent dentists.
