FKIK Unismuh Website Becomes the New Face of Digital Services Website
Makassar, Thursday, September 18, 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar officially introduced its new faculty website during a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held in the FKIK Meeting Room, 3rd Floor of the Faculty of Medicine building. The event was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, students, and academic staff to support the digital transformation of academic services.
The FKIK Unismuh website is presented as a hub for academic information, research, and community engagement. This platform also serves as the faculty’s effort to meet the needs of students and lecturers for faster, more transparent, and integrated access to information.
“This website is not merely an information display, but a means of transparency and connectivity with all stakeholders,” said Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc, Sp.GK (K), Dean of FKIK Unismuh, in her opening remarks.
In her presentation, the dean added that the website would feature academic schedules, faculty activities, lecturers’ research outputs, and alumni profiles. She emphasized that students would no longer have to rely on conventional notice boards.
The discussion session featured internal speakers. Siti Nurrahma explained the website’s purpose as a new face of the faculty’s digital communication, while Teuku Muh. Haedir, S.Kom presented the procedures for using the website. “We strive to ensure that the website is user-friendly for both students and lecturers,” Haedir stated.
In addition, students welcomed the initiative. One participant said that the website would be highly beneficial for obtaining academic information and activity schedules. He noted that digitalization is an essential step in today’s era.
The FGD also addressed the role of technology in journalism. Hadi Saputra, S.Pd., M.Si delivered a presentation on the use of artificial intelligence in news writing and editing. “AI can help accelerate technical processes, but the responsibility for accuracy remains with journalists,” Hadi asserted.
Several lecturers highlighted the importance of sustainable content management. They observed that the quality of the website would depend on consistent updates and the security of user data.
The event ran from 08:30 a.m. to 03:35 p.m. WITA, following the official rundown, which included registration, opening, the dean’s address, website introduction, usage training, and simulation. At the closing session, the committee presented tokens of appreciation to the speakers.
The FKIK Unismuh website is now publicly accessible through the faculty’s official address and is connected to social media accounts to broaden outreach. Its presence is expected to become an effective tool in supporting academic activities and community engagement.
The FGD concluded with the faculty leadership’s message that digitalization is an inevitability. The new FKIK Unismuh website is anticipated to serve as a foundation for more modern, transparent, and beneficial academic governance for the academic community and the wider public.
