Makassar — The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, organized a Clinical Teaching and Clinical Assessment Training for Clinical Supervisors of the Medical Professional Program. The activity was conducted over two days, Friday–Saturday (19–20 December 2025), at Hotel Ibis Makassar, Pakarena Ballroom.

The program commenced with an official opening ceremony, followed by an initial discussion session addressing challenges and dynamics in the implementation of clinical learning within educational clinical settings. This discussion provided a platform for clinical supervisors to share experiences, particularly regarding variations in supervision methods and clinical assessment practices that have been applied to date.

The training aimed to enhance the capacity and competence of clinical supervisors in implementing standardized, objective, and competency-oriented clinical teaching and clinical assessment processes. The activity also formed part of FMHS Unismuh Makassar’s broader efforts to strengthen quality assurance in clinical medical education.

In her opening remarks, the Dean of FMHS Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K), expressed her appreciation for the implementation of the training. She emphasized that strengthening the role of clinical supervisors is a crucial factor in producing professional and ethically grounded medical graduates.

Clinical teaching and clinical assessment do not merely focus on the acquisition of knowledge, but also on the development of clinical skills, professional attitudes, and ethical values among students. Therefore, clinical supervisors must share a common understanding based on clear and standardized principles,” Prof. Suryani stated.

According to her, the quality of medical professional graduates is largely determined by the quality of clinical education processes in clinical practice settings. Clinical supervisors play a dual role as educators and role models who directly shape the character and clinical competence of future physicians.

Throughout the training, participants were provided with materials on effective clinical teaching strategies, approaches to student supervision in clinical environments, and the application of objective and accountable clinical assessment instruments. Discussion sessions and case studies further enriched participants’ understanding of best practices in clinical medical education.

The activity also served as a forum to harmonize perspectives among clinical supervisors from various teaching hospitals and clinical training sites, enabling the consistent and sustainable implementation of standardized clinical learning and assessment.

Through this Clinical Teaching and Clinical Assessment Training, FMHS Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar aims to further strengthen the quality of medical professional education and produce graduates who are competent, adaptive, and well-prepared to face the challenges of healthcare services at both national and global levels.


FKIK Unismuh Makassar Dorong Standar Pembelajaran Klinik lewat Pelatihan Clinical Teaching

Makassar — Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan (FKIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar menyelenggarakan Pelatihan Clinical Teaching and Clinical Assessment bagi Dosen Pembimbing Klinik Program Studi Profesi Dokter. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama dua hari, Jumat–Sabtu (19–20 Desember 2025), bertempat di Hotel Ibis Makassar, Ballroom Pakarena.

Kegiatan diawali dengan pembukaan resmi yang dilanjutkan dengan sesi diskusi awal mengenai tantangan dan dinamika pelaksanaan pembelajaran klinik di wahana pendidikan. Diskusi ini menjadi ruang berbagi pengalaman bagi para dosen pembimbing klinik, khususnya terkait variasi metode pembimbingan dan penilaian klinik yang selama ini diterapkan.

Pelatihan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas dan kompetensi dosen pembimbing klinik dalam melaksanakan proses clinical teaching dan clinical assessment yang terstandar, objektif, serta berorientasi pada capaian kompetensi mahasiswa profesi dokter. Kegiatan tersebut juga menjadi bagian dari upaya penjaminan mutu pendidikan klinik di lingkungan FKIK Unismuh Makassar.

Dalam sambutannya, Dekan FKIK Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K), menyampaikan apresiasi atas terselenggaranya pelatihan ini. Ia menegaskan bahwa penguatan peran dosen pembimbing klinik merupakan faktor penting dalam mencetak lulusan dokter yang profesional dan berintegritas.

Clinical teaching dan clinical assessment tidak hanya berfokus pada penguasaan ilmu, tetapi juga pembentukan keterampilan klinik, sikap profesional, dan etika mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, dosen pembimbing klinik perlu memiliki pemahaman yang seragam dan berbasis standar yang jelas,” ujar Prof. Suryani.

Menurutnya, kualitas lulusan profesi dokter sangat ditentukan oleh kualitas proses pendidikan klinik di lahan praktik. Dosen pembimbing klinik berperan sebagai pendidik sekaligus role model yang secara langsung membentuk karakter dan kompetensi calon dokter.

Selama pelatihan, peserta dibekali materi terkait strategi clinical teaching yang efektif, pendekatan pembimbingan mahasiswa di lingkungan klinik, serta penerapan instrumen clinical assessment yang objektif dan akuntabel. Sesi diskusi dan studi kasus turut memperkaya pemahaman peserta terhadap praktik terbaik di pendidikan klinik.

Kegiatan ini juga menjadi wadah penyamaan persepsi antar dosen pembimbing klinik dari berbagai wahana pendidikan, sehingga standar pembelajaran dan penilaian klinik dapat diterapkan secara konsisten dan berkelanjutan.

Melalui pelatihan Clinical Teaching and Clinical Assessment ini, FKIK Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar berharap dapat memperkuat mutu pendidikan profesi dokter serta menghasilkan lulusan yang kompeten, adaptif, dan siap menghadapi tantangan pelayanan kesehatan di tingkat nasional maupun global.
