Preventing the Impact of Climate Change, BEM FK Unismuh holds Climate Action Summit 2024 involving +250 Volunteers
Tanjung Bayang Beach, May 20, 2024 – The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar successfully held a Clean Up Day event on Sunday, May 19, 2024. The event, which aimed to clean up the beach and surrounding environment, was attended by the Head of BEM, two lecturers as well as the doctor in charge of the activity.
Muhammad Faisal, Chairman of the BEM of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, said that this event was a form of student concern for environmental cleanliness and health.
“This activity is a tangible form of our commitment to preserve the environment and increase public awareness of the importance of keeping the beach clean.
This cleaning activity is not only aimed at collecting garbage, but also as an effort to educate and raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment,” said Muhammad Faisal.
The event not only focused on cleaning the environment but also provided education on sanitation, clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), as well as the prevention of diseases caused by an unclean environment such as dengue fever, whose cases continue to increase.
Two lecturers as well as the doctor in charge of the activity who attended this event were dr. Muh Fajry Jamiady dr. An ras Fajrul Ikhsan, each of whom gave directions and accompanied students during the activity.
The Clean Up Day event took place from 09.00 to 11.00 WIB with a route around Tanjung Bayang Beach. All participants, consisting of students and lecturers, seemed enthusiastic and excited in carrying out this activity.
BEM Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhamadiyah Makassar hopes that this activity can become a routine agenda and inspire more parties to participate in maintaining environmental cleanliness.
