Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. As the center of the development of Eastern Indonesia, Makassar has a very strategic position in Indonesia. Therefore, FKIK Unismuh Makassar must be able to make the best use of this opportunity. FKIK Unismuh Makassar aspires to become a Faculty of Medicine that produces Islamic doctor graduates and excels in the field of handling medical emergencies.

One of our missions is to develop information technology (IT)-based medical education. Therefore, the availability of IT facilities to support good governance and the student teaching-learning process is our priority. This can be proven by the complete IT facilities available, ranging from a large capacity Computer Lab, ICT Center, fast internet bandwidth, integrated Management Information System to support transparent and effective governance, to the provision of a very complete digital library (DigiLib). From this DigiLib, students can access many medical textbooks as well as medical lecture videos and animation videos that are very helpful for student learning. The use of IT for governance and teaching and learning processes is in accordance with the ideals of the faculty which wants to develop environmentally friendly governance, towards paperless governance.

Starting in 2019, new FKIK Unismuh Makassar students are required to have a computer or cellphone / tablet to support their learning. Many assignments are delivered through the Learning Management System (LMS) which can be accessed via the internet network. Thus the principle of student centered learning can be applied well. Students can bring their ‘personal library’ everywhere and can study anytime, anywhere, according to their individual circumstances. Even doing independent and group assignments is also very flexible.

Through this website, in addition to introducing ourselves, we also open the door to cooperation with all parties, especially teachers and researchers in the field of medicine, both at home and abroad. The field of medical emergency is a field of excellence at FK Unismuh Makassar. Cooperation can be in the form of student exchange, faculty exchange, guest lectures, holding joint seminars, bench marking, and joint research. Of course, we are also open to cooperation in other fields of medicine.
