FKIK Unismuh Makassar Students Shine as Finalists in International Medical Physiology Olympiad
Students from Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences from Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar representing Indonesia as they become the finalist of Physiology Quiz in Japan (PQJ) hosted by Medical Faculty of Shimane University, March 23rd-24th, Japan.
The team consists of three students Muhammad Risqullah Ammar, Aisyah Izzah Rabbani, and Nur Nadilah Sari, along with the accompanying faculty member, Dzar Fadli El Furqan, MD
PQJ held since 2016 and yearly held in Japan, and this year was first on-site Olympiad after COVID-19 pandemic, attracting medical students from around the world.
“This is our first time participated in the international Physiology olympiad, and this time we are the only team from Indonesia. We are very proud and grateful to represent and advance as finalists,” stated Muhammad Risqullah Ammar in his report on March 28th
On the other hand, dr. Dzar Fadli also expressed pride and admiration for his students’ achievement
“Although this is our first time participating in an international olympiad, we have managed through the final stage. I hope it can encourage us to get higher achievement,” said dr. Fadli.
The PQJ was also attended by the judges in the event Professor Hiroko Kishi, MD, Ph.D., as the Professor of the Department of Physiology at Shimane University, and Noriyuki Koibuchi, MD,.Ph.D. Professor in the field of medical physiology, Gunma University
