Anastomose Student Executive Board, The Faculty of Medicine Unismuh Makassar Holds Social Service : A Realization from the Medical Student’s Devotion to the Community
Makassar, 17 November 2024 – The Student Executive Board Anastomose Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar successfully held a Social Event as a tangible form of student service to the community. This activity took place in Borisallo Village, Parangloe District, Gowa, with the theme “Bereaksi Serentak : Gerakan Peduli Kesehatan Masyarakat Dengan Semangat Pengabdian Sosial”.
This social service involved the cadres of the Faculty of Medicine of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar students from batch 2023 who synergized to provide health services, education, and assistance to the surrounding community. This activity includes free health checks, medical consultations, and circumcision.
The president of Student Executive Board Anastomose FK Unismuh, Muhammad Faisal, explained that this activity is part of the main mission of medical students to play an active role in improving the health status of the community. “Through this activity, we want to build awareness and concern for the importance of health, while providing direct benefits to people in need. Hopefully, this activity can create a sustainable positive impact,” he said.
This activity was also attended by the leadership of FK Unismuh, who gave high appreciation for the initiative of BEM Anastomose. “This activity is a tangible manifestation of the practice of knowledge that has been learned by medical students. They not only learn about medical science, but also human values and community service,” he said.
The village head who was present to welcome this activity enthusiastically expressed his gratitude. “We are very grateful to FK Unismuh students who care about our health. This activity is very helpful, especially for those of us who rarely get access to health,” he said.
With the implementation of this social service, FK Unismuh through BEM Anastomose again showed its commitment to continue to make a real contribution to the community. Similar activities are expected to become a routine agenda to bring the world of health education closer to the people in need.
