Makassar, South Sulawesi – From September 13 to 15, 2024, the Medical Ar-Razi Research Community of the Faculty of Medicine (MARC-FK) at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar successfully held the prestigious AR-RAZI Competition 2024. This national scientific competition provided a platform for students from various regions across Indonesia to showcase their creativity and innovation. The event was held at the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar campus, attended by representatives from multiple universities and academic guests from various sectors.

The event was officially opened by Dr. Andi Weri Sompa, Sp.N(K), Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar, and Dr. Burhanuddin, S.Sos., M.Si., Vice Rector of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Both emphasized the importance of cross-institutional collaboration to advance innovation in healthcare.

Under the theme “Building a Healthy Future with Knowledge and Innovation,” AR-RAZI Competition 2024 aimed to inspire young generations to actively contribute to the development of science and technology, particularly in medicine and healthcare. The event also sought to strengthen inter-university networks and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration to address public health challenges in Indonesia.

1. Day One: Welcoming Party
   The opening event introduced the organizing committee, provided orientation for participants, and outlined the event schedule.
2. Day Two: Competition and Seminar
   The second day marked the peak of the competition, where participants delivered final presentations to the judges. A scientific seminar was also held, featuring experienced specialist doctors who discussed current issues in healthcare and medical technology advancements.
3. Day Three: City Tour
   The event concluded with a city tour, offering participants the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and uniqueness of Makassar in a relaxing atmosphere.

AR-RAZI Competition 2024 attracted participation from 20 leading universities in Indonesia, including Sebelas Maret University, Hasanuddin University, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, and others. The competition featured four categories: Educational Video, Public Poster, Scientific Essay, and Literature Review. The event comprised multiple stages, from initial work selection to final presentations, with evaluations conducted by a panel of experts, including experienced academics and researchers.

The head of the organizing committee, Fiqih Maha Putri, expressed her hope that AR-RAZI Competition would continue as an annual event that fosters innovation and collaboration. “We hope this event serves as a platform to inspire young generations to keep innovating and contributing to the advancement of science,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of MARC-FK Unismuh, Harits Herman, conveyed his gratitude to all participants. “We are proud to be part of the innovation journey of Indonesia’s young generation. We hope this event not only serves as a competition but also marks the beginning of tangible contributions to society,” he remarked.

With the conclusion of AR-RAZI Competition 2024, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting scientific advancement in Indonesia. This event is expected to continue inspiring young generations to make meaningful contributions to the nation and society.
