BEM FK UNISMUH and FKIK UNISMUH Leadership Sign MoU to Handle Health Problems in Mangeloreng Village, Maros Regency.
Maros, May 26, 2024 – The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah (FK UNISMUH) together with the leadership of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UNISMUH held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing event to deal with health problems in Mangeloreng Village, Bantimurung District, Maros Regency. The event was held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Mangeloreng Village Hall.
The event started at 09.00 WITA with a speech from the Chairman of BEM Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Makassar, Muhammad Faisal. In his speech, Muhammad Faisal said, “Desa Binaan is a program that contains service activities such as health checks, disease screening, promotive and preventive education to empower cadres, youth organizations and the elderly. InsyaAllah, with this activity, it can be a support in improving the transformation of primary services for the Mangeloreng community, and also become a learning field for students who only get theory on campus, so that it can become experience and provision to become doctors in the future,” said Muhammad Faisal.
The Head of Mangeloreng Village, who in this case was represented by the Head of the Government Section, Mr. Sirajuddin, also delivered his remarks and expressed his gratitude for the initiative of BEM FK UNISMUH and FKIK UNISMUH, “very grateful for choosing Mangeloreng village as a fostered village from BEM FK UNISMUH, and of course the positive response also from the community welcomed the good intentions of the younger students. Hopefully this program can be something that has a broad impact and be a blessing together, “said Mr. Sirajuddin.
The Dean of FKIK Unismuh, Mrs. Prof. DR. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc, Sp.GK (K), in her speech expressed her commitment to fully support this activity. “A program that is very useful and needs to be sustained in its implementation so that the development from before being designated as a fostered village until the end of the cooperation can be seen and used as an assessment material for further actions or activities,” said Ibu Prof. DR. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc, Sp.GK (K).
The signing of this MoU includes various activity plans that will be implemented, including:
- Free Health Check: Conducting routine health checks for the Mangeloreng Village community, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and general check-ups.
- Free Medical Treatment: Providing free medical services for people in need, with priority on common diseases and early treatment of chronic diseases.
The event was closed with a group photo and hospitality between students, FKIK leaders, and the Mangeloreng Village community. Through the signing of this MoU, it is hoped that it can take place in the long term and bring sustainable positive changes to the people of Mangeloreng Village. FKIK Unismuh is committed to continue to innovate and contribute in improving public health, both through community service activities and other programs.
