Makassar, December 14, 2024 – Another proud achievement was made by the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar (FK Unismuh). The President of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FK Unismuh, Muhammad Faisal, won the award as the Best BEM President in the prestigious IV Regional Deliberation of the Indonesian Medical Student Executive Boards Association (ISMKI) which was held on December 12-15, 2024.

This award was given as a form of appreciation for Muhammad Faisal’s dedication, innovation, and leadership in leading medical student organizations at the faculty level. Under his leadership, BEM FK Unismuh successfully initiated various excellent programs that have a direct impact on the community, such as community service activities, health seminars, and student capacity building.

In his speech after receiving the award, Muhammad Faisal stated, “This award does not only belong to me, but to all members of BEM FK Unismuh and the big family of Faculty of Medicine Unismuh. This success is the result of hard work and collaboration of the whole team. Hopefully this will be a motivation for us to continue working and making the best contribution to society and the world of health.”

The ISMKI Regional Conference IV is an annual forum that brings together medical student leaders from various universities in the Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua regions. The Best BEM President Award is given after a rigorous evaluation process, including an assessment of work programs, organizational innovation, and the impact of activities on society and students.

Vice Dean III of Unismuh Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Asdar, Sp. Surgery, expressed his appreciation for this achievement. “Muhammad Faisal has shown outstanding leadership, not only in the internal scope of BEM FK Unismuh, but also at the National level. We are very proud of this award and hope that this achievement can be an inspiration for other students to continue to excel,” he said.

This award emphasizes FK Unismuh’s position as one of the medical faculties that not only excels in the academic field, but also actively contributes to the development of student leadership at the national level.

With this achievement, Muhammad Faisal hopes to continue to bring the name of FK Unismuh to be better known as a center for the development of medical students who excel, have integrity, and are committed to community service.
