Makassar — The Pharmacy Professional Education Study Program (PSPPA) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, held an Orientation Program for New Students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year on September 17–18, 2026. The event took place at the FMHS RKU, Muktamar Hall, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, and served as an important occasion to welcome new students who will undertake their professional pharmacy education.

The orientation program was designed to introduce students to the academic environment, educational and learning systems, professional education culture, and various academic regulations that will guide them throughout their studies in the Pharmacy Professional Education Study Program. Through this program, new students were expected to gain an initial understanding of their academic responsibilities and professional commitments as prospective pharmacists.

Dean of FMHS Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK., Subsp.KM, emphasized that professional education represents an important stage in preparing graduates who possess not only strong academic competencies but also a commitment to professional ethics and responsibilities. “This orientation marks an important first step for students to understand that pharmacy professional education is not solely about mastering scientific knowledge, but also about developing professionalism, integrity, discipline, and a strong commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the community,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Head of the Pharmacy Professional Education Study Program, apt. Andi Ulfah Magefirah Rasyid, S.Farm., M.Si., highlighted the importance of using the orientation period to become familiar with the educational system and the various academic processes that students will undertake. “We hope that new students will participate actively in the entire orientation program, engage in discussions, and develop the readiness needed to undertake their professional education responsibly. We want them to be academically prepared while also developing the character and competencies required of future pharmacists,” she explained.

The orientation program also provided an opportunity to foster communication and interaction among new students, faculty leadership, the study program management, lecturers, and other members of the academic community. The arrival of the new students is expected to further strengthen the academic environment within PSPPA FMHS Unismuh Makassar while marking the beginning of a collaborative and professional learning experience.

Through the 2026/2027 New Student Orientation Program, PSPPA FMHS Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar continues its commitment to providing a strong foundation for students as they embark on their professional pharmacy education. The program is expected to foster academic readiness, professionalism, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility among future pharmacists in contributing to quality healthcare services and addressing the needs of the community.

Sambut Mahasiswa Baru, PSPPA FKIK Unismuh Makassar Gelar Orientasi Tahun Akademik 2026/2027

Makassar — Program Studi Pendidikan Profesi Apoteker (PSPPA) Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan (FKIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar menggelar Orientasi Mahasiswa Baru Tahun Akademik 2026/2027 pada 17–18 September 2026. Kegiatan tersebut berlangsung di RKU FKIK Balai Sidang Muktamar Unismuh Makassar dan menjadi bagian penting dalam menyambut mahasiswa baru yang akan menjalani pendidikan profesi apoteker.

Kegiatan orientasi dirancang sebagai momentum pengenalan lingkungan akademik, sistem pembelajaran, budaya pendidikan profesi, serta berbagai ketentuan yang akan menjadi bagian dari perjalanan mahasiswa selama menempuh pendidikan di PSPPA. Melalui kegiatan ini, mahasiswa baru diharapkan memperoleh pemahaman awal mengenai tanggung jawab akademik dan profesional sebagai calon apoteker.

Dekan FKIK Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK., Subsp.KM, menekankan bahwa pendidikan profesi merupakan tahapan penting dalam membentuk lulusan yang tidak hanya memiliki kompetensi keilmuan, tetapi juga menjunjung tinggi etika dan tanggung jawab profesi. “Orientasi ini menjadi langkah awal bagi mahasiswa untuk memahami bahwa pendidikan profesi apoteker bukan hanya tentang penguasaan ilmu, tetapi juga tentang membangun sikap profesional, integritas, kedisiplinan, dan komitmen dalam memberikan pelayanan kesehatan kepada masyarakat,” ujarnya.

Sementara itu, Ketua Program Studi Pendidikan Profesi Apoteker, apt. Andi Ulfah Magefirah Rasyid, S.Farm., M.Si., menyampaikan bahwa mahasiswa baru perlu memanfaatkan masa orientasi untuk mengenal lebih dekat sistem pendidikan dan berbagai proses akademik yang akan dijalani. “Kami berharap mahasiswa baru dapat mengikuti seluruh rangkaian orientasi dengan baik, aktif bertanya, serta membangun kesiapan untuk mengikuti proses pendidikan profesi secara bertanggung jawab. Kami ingin mereka tidak hanya siap secara akademik, tetapi juga memiliki karakter dan kompetensi yang dibutuhkan sebagai calon apoteker,” ungkapnya.

Orientasi tersebut sekaligus menjadi ruang untuk membangun komunikasi antara mahasiswa baru, pimpinan fakultas, pengelola program studi, dosen, serta sivitas akademika lainnya. Kehadiran mahasiswa baru diharapkan turut memperkuat atmosfer akademik PSPPA FKIK Unismuh Makassar sekaligus menjadi awal terbentuknya lingkungan belajar yang kolaboratif dan profesional.
