On September 15, 2023, in Japan, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) UNISMUH Makassar signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) formalizing a strategic collaboration with Hiroshima University Hospital (HU Hospital) Japan. Both institutions share a common vision to advance the field of emergency medicine through the soon-to-be-launched Specialization Program in Emergency Medicine at FMHS Unismuh Makassar.

The signing of this LoI marks a historic milestone in international healthcare cooperation, with the primary goal of enhancing the quality of education, research, and development at FMHS Unismuh Makassar. The LoI was signed by Mr. Yoshiki Kudo, M.D., D. Phil, the Director of HU Hospital, and Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K), the Dean of FMHS, accompanied by Prof. Husni Tanra.

HU Hospital, as a renowned healthcare institution in Japan, boasts a strong reputation in medical practice, research, and education. With the signing of this LoI, FMHS Unismuh Makassar hopes to leverage HU Hospital’s expertise and experience in developing a high-quality Specialization Program in Emergency Medicine.
