Bachelor of Medicine Study Program and Medical Doctor Study Program Faculty Of Medicine and Health Sciences Unismuh have achieved international accreditation from ASIIN.
Bachelor of Medicine Study Program and Medical Doctor Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar has received accreditation certificates from the international institution ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik).
This was announced by the Dean of FKIK Unismuh, Prof. Suryani As’ad, on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Unismuh Campus, Jl Sultan Alauddin, Makassar.
Suryani mentioned that the ASIIN certificate for these two programs is valid from December 8, 2023, to April 19, 2025.
ASIIN is an international accreditation institution for engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, medicine, and economics. ASIIN accreditation certificates are awarded to study programs that meet academic and professional criteria in the relevant fields of knowledge.
To obtain the ASIIN certificate, the study program must meet the requirements for educational implementation and learning-teaching processes oriented towards learning outcomes, referring to the European Qualifications Framework for Life-long Learning (EQF LLL) standards.
The ASIIN accreditation process involves two stages: the assessment of academic documents such as a Brief Curriculum and Self-Assessment Report, and the evaluation of supporting learning infrastructure and facilities by the program management team, instructors, and students.
FKIK Unismuh received a visit from a team of assessors representing ASIIN on September 26, 2023. The four ASIIN assessors who visited Unismuh were Prof. Thomas Reinheckel, MD, Ms. Anika Biel, MD, Mr. Christian Daniels, Dr. Gita Vita Suraya, and Muhammad Adam Tri Yoga, S.Ked.
Dean Suryani As’ad of FKIK Unismuh expressed her gratitude for this international accreditation achievement. “This accreditation demonstrates that the Bachelor’s Program in Medicine and the Professional Doctor Program at Unismuh meet international standards,” she said.
Suryani hopes that the international accreditation achievements of these two programs can contribute to the attainment of Institutional Accreditation for Higher Education (AIPT) for Unismuh, thereby achieving an Excellent predicate.
