Makassar, June 29, 2024 – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Universitas Muhammadiyah (UNISMUH) Makassar has once again achieved outstanding success by winning the award for the program with the most students achieving international academic recognition. This award was given at the 2024 Student Achievement Awards held at the Muktamar Hall, UNISMUH Campus.

This prestigious event, themed “Creating with Achievements for an Excellent Unismuh,” was opened by the Rector of UNISMUH, Prof. Ambo Asse. In his speech, Prof. Ambo Asse emphasized the importance of student achievements in bringing the university’s name to the international stage.

FKIK UNISMUH Makassar secured this award due to the significant number of students who achieved recognition in various international academic events throughout 2023 and early 2024. These achievements span multiple fields, including scientific research, conference presentations, and health-related competitions participated in by FKIK students.

Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K), Dean of FKIK UNISMUH, expressed her gratitude for this achievement. “We are extremely proud of our students who have worked hard and demonstrated high dedication in academics. This award is the result of their hard work and the full support of the entire FKIK academic community,” said Prof. Suryani As’ad.

Dr. Asdar, Sp.B, Vice Dean 3 for Student Affairs, also shared his enthusiasm for the award. “This recognition is a testament to our students’ relentless effort and commitment. We are dedicated to providing them with the best support and opportunities to excel. This award will inspire us to further nurture and develop our students’ potential in both academic and non-academic fields,” said Dr. Asdar.

This award is expected to motivate other FKIK UNISMUH students to continue achieving and bringing the university’s name to both national and international levels. Additionally, this award serves as evidence that FKIK UNISMUH Makassar can compete and excel in health education.

The 2024 Student Achievement Awards event was attended by various university officials, lecturers, students, and guests from various educational institutions. Besides the award for FKIK, the event also recognized 736 students who excelled in both academic and non-academic fields from various other programs.

With this award, FKIK UNISMUH Makassar further strengthens its position as one of the leading faculties of medicine and health sciences in Indonesia. Moving forward, FKIK is committed to continually improving the quality of education and encouraging students to always innovate and achieve.
