MAKASSAR – The Bachelor of Medicine Program of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Semester VII courses of the 2023 Curriculum on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Lecture Room 2, 7th Floor, PKU Muhammadiyah Unismuh Hospital, Makassar.

The activity formed part of the program’s continuous efforts to evaluate and enhance its curriculum, ensuring that the educational process remains responsive to advancements in medical science, evolving healthcare needs, and contemporary standards of medical education.

The FGD was officially opened with welcoming remarks from the Dean of FMHS Unismuh Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K). In her address, she underscored the importance of curriculum evaluation as a strategic mechanism for maintaining academic excellence and producing competent physicians who are capable of adapting to the dynamic challenges of modern healthcare systems.

The program continued with a presentation on the evaluation of the Semester VII curriculum delivered by the Head of the Bachelor of Medicine Program, dr. Nurmila, M.Kes., Sp.PD. Participants subsequently received presentations from block coordinators and secretaries regarding the implementation of learning activities within the Emergency and Traumatology Block, Forensic and Medicolegal Medicine Block, Community Medicine Block, and the Clinical Skills Laboratory (CSL).

The FGD brought together block coordinators and secretaries as key participants, including representatives from the Emergency and Traumatology Block, Forensic and Medicolegal Medicine Block, Community Medicine Block, CSL V Block, and Bioethics Block. Their participation was expected to provide comprehensive insights and constructive feedback on curriculum implementation throughout the semester.

During the focused group discussion sessions, participants and facilitators examined various aspects of the educational process, including learning outcomes, the effectiveness of teaching and learning methodologies, interdisciplinary integration across courses, and challenges encountered during curriculum implementation. The findings from these discussions were subsequently presented and synthesized into a series of recommendations aimed at strengthening future curriculum development.

Through this initiative, the Bachelor of Medicine Program of FMHS Unismuh Makassar reaffirmed its commitment to continuous curriculum evaluation and quality enhancement. The recommendations generated through the FGD are expected to serve as a foundation for strengthening the quality of medical education and supporting the development of graduates who are academically excellent, professionally competent, and globally competitive.

Prodi Pendidikan Dokter FKIK Unismuh Makassar Gelar FGD Evaluasi Kurikulum Semester VII

MAKASSAR – Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan (FKIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar menggelar Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Mata Kuliah Semester VII Kurikulum 2023 pada Selasa, 9 Juni 2026, bertempat di Ruang Kuliah 2 Lantai 7 RS PKU Muhammadiyah Unismuh Makassar.

Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari upaya berkelanjutan Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter dalam melakukan evaluasi dan penyempurnaan kurikulum guna memastikan proses pembelajaran tetap relevan dengan perkembangan ilmu kedokteran, kebutuhan pelayanan kesehatan, serta standar pendidikan kedokteran yang berlaku.

FGD dibuka secara resmi dan diawali dengan sambutan Dekan FKIK Unismuh Makassar, Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc., Sp.GK(K). Dalam kesempatan tersebut, dekan menekankan pentingnya evaluasi kurikulum sebagai langkah strategis dalam menjaga mutu pendidikan serta menghasilkan lulusan dokter yang kompeten dan adaptif terhadap tantangan pelayanan kesehatan masa kini.

Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan pemaparan evaluasi Kurikulum Semester VII oleh Ketua Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter, dr. Nurmila, M.Kes., Sp.PD. Selanjutnya, peserta memperoleh paparan dari para koordinator dan sekretaris blok terkait pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada Blok Gawat Darurat dan Traumatologi, Blok Forensik dan Medikolegal, Kedokteran Komunitas, serta Clinical Skills Laboratory (CSL).

FGD menghadirkan para koordinator dan sekretaris blok sebagai peserta utama, di antaranya perwakilan Blok Kegawatdaruratan dan Traumatologi, Blok Forensik dan Medikolegal, Blok Kedokteran Komunitas, Blok CSL V, serta Blok Bioetik. Kehadiran para pengampu blok diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan yang komprehensif terkait pelaksanaan kurikulum selama semester berjalan.

Pada sesi diskusi kelompok terarah, peserta bersama fasilitator membahas berbagai aspek pembelajaran, mulai dari capaian pembelajaran, efektivitas metode pengajaran, integrasi materi antarmata kuliah, hingga tantangan yang dihadapi selama implementasi kurikulum. Hasil diskusi kemudian dipresentasikan dan dirumuskan menjadi rekomendasi sebagai bahan perbaikan kurikulum di masa mendatang. Melalui kegiatan ini, Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter FKIK Unismuh Makassar menunjukkan komitmennya dalam melakukan evaluasi dan pengembangan kurikulum secara berkelanjutan. Rekomendasi yang dihasilkan dari FGD diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar penguatan mutu pendidikan kedokteran serta mendukung terciptanya lulusan yang unggul, profesional, dan berdaya saing.
