SEB FK UNISMUH Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University Makassar Collaborates with UNICEF and NYHA to Establish Volunteer Training Program
Makassar, June 17, 2023 – The Student Executive Board (SEB) of FK UNISMUH Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University Makassar, is delighted to announce a significant collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the National Youth Health Association (NYHA) to develop a comprehensive volunteer training program.
This joint initiative aims to empower young individuals to actively engage in community service and contribute to the well-being of children and youth. Through this partnership, SEB FK UNISMUH Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University Makassar, UNICEF, and NYHA will combine their expertise and resources to provide students and young people with the skills and knowledge necessary to become effective volunteers.
The volunteer training program will cover various topics, including children’s rights, health, education, emergency response, and advocacy. The program will equip participants with the tools needed to address the diverse needs and challenges faced by children and youth in society.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with UNICEF and NYHA in establishing this volunteer training program,” said Reinaldy Aslam, President of SEB FK UNISMUH Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University Makassar. “We believe that by nurturing a culture of volunteerism, we can create a positive impact on the lives of children and youth, as well as contribute to the sustainable development of our community.”
This partnership will leverage the expertise and networks of the three organizations to develop engaging and interactive training modules. These modules will be designed to accommodate participants from various backgrounds and experience levels, promoting inclusivity and diversity within the volunteer community.
In his address, Dr. Asdar, Sp.B, Vice Dean III of FK UNISMUH Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University Makassar, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between BEM FK UNISMUH, UNICEF, and NYHA in establishing this volunteer training program. “This program will provide valuable opportunities for students and young people to develop themselves and make positive contributions to society, especially in improving the well-being of children and youth. We hope that this collaboration can be further strengthened and bring tangible benefits to all parties involved.”
As a token of appreciation for this collaboration, UNICEF and NYHA presented plaques and certificates of appreciation to the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University Makassar, and BEM FK UNISMUH. These awards reflect recognition of the commitment and dedication demonstrated in efforts to strengthen the role of children and youth in society.
