FKIK Unismuh- Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin revealed that he received three tasks from President Joko Widodo.

First, vaccination, this task was successfully carried out by Gunadi. Second, the transition from pandemic to endemic so that the economy moves to grow. This also gives a positive sign. Third, transformation based on the national health system. This health transformation, according to Gunadi, is very important to be supported by the Association of Indonesian Medical Education Institutions (AIPKI).

There are six pillars in the transformation of the health care system, namely: (1) transformation of primary care; (2) transformation of hospital referral services; (3) transformation of medical devices, medicines, vaccines to ensure sufficient domestic production; (4) BPJS health financing and financing sources to be efficient; (5) transformation of health human resources; and (6) transformation of health information communication technology (ICT).

He emphasized that health human resources are very important, both in quantity and quality.

“We need AIPKI to ensure that the distribution and number are sufficient,” he said. The AIPKI in question, of course, is all medical faculty members of AIPKI, as institutions that organize medical education throughout Indonesia.

He continued, the priority is that the number must be sufficient. Once enough, the quality is gradually increased.

AIPKI XI Congress took place from June 10-12. This congress took the theme “Strengthening AIPKI and Medical Education Institutions in Realizing World Class Medical Faculty in the Post-pandemic Era.”

Regarding the progress of medical education, Prof. Budu stated that AIPKI always tries to develop in the face of progress and changes in health policies.

In addition, it continuously strives for improvement and progress in improving the quality of education in the post-pandemic era.

“AIPKI has communicated with various parties, including the Ministry of Education and Research, Ministry of Health, KKI, IDI, KDI, ARSPI, LAM-PTKes, and others in order to improve the quality of medical education,” explained Prof. Budu.

The agenda of the AIPKI XI congress, in addition to the election of the chairman, is the determination of the articles of association and bylaws of the organization, the outlines of the board’s work program, and recommendations for the next AIPKI board.
