FKIK Unismuh – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar held a Journalism & Multimedia Training at the 1st Floor Hall of FKIK Unismuh Makassar Building, Jl Sultan Alauddin, Makassar, South Sulawesi, Saturday – Sunday (28-29/1/2023).
Journalism itself is an “activity” of searching, processing, writing, and disseminating information to the public through mass media. This activity is carried out by journalists, both professionals and general citizens. These activities include collecting news material (coverage), reporting events (reporting), writing news (writing), editing news scripts (editing), and presenting or disseminating news (publishing / broadcasting) through the media.
Vice Dean III FKIK Unismuh, dr Asdar Sp B reminded students to optimize this opportunity to develop their interests and talents, especially in the field of journalism and multimedia; as well as adding new skills, and increasing student creativity.
“In the future, our challenge to present information must be more creative, especially in this digitalization era,” he said.
“This activity was attended by 85 participants. They are active students in four FKIK study programs, namely General Medical Education, Midwifery, Nursing, and Pharmacy,” said Dr. Dzar Fadli El Furqan.
He hopes that the implementation of this activity can bring benefits and open new opportunities for FKIK Unismuh students.
Secretary of the Production House Unit (UPH) FKIK Unismuh, Ikhsan Mursad expressed his hope for this activity to be able to accommodate and give birth to young journalists from FKIK Unismuh.
“This journalism and multimedia training activity of FKIK Unismuh is an activity that we have long dreamed of holding. Because in my opinion, for health workers, both doctors and other health workers, it is very important to have journalistic knowledge and abilities, because in addition to the skills of their profession, good communication skills are also needed, “explained Ikhsan.
“At least raise their awareness about the importance of information media and journalism,” he added.
The FKIK Unismuh journalism and multimedia training activities are expected to be the forerunner of the establishment of a student press organization at FKIK Unismuh Makassar.
